Do you think religion has a positive or negative impact on suicide.?

I feel like most teen suicides in America are because that person views their life as terrible, they do the same thing every day. It feels pointless and they have no reason to fight their hardships. If someone was suicidal I think they are more likely to reject god. The sad thing is most parents are religious, perhaps the teen is afraid to share their belief with their parent because they are religious and don't want to be treated or viewed any worse than they already are. Then again if that person has been indoctrinated into the religion and further relies on their beliefs they are afraid of their afterlife. So whitch do you think is more prevalent?
